Education
(make 3 subpages - public ed, private ed, and train-the-trainer?)
CFBP Is dedicated to public awareness concerning raptor issues. Communities are encouraged to become involved with local wildlife groups to understand the needs of raptors in their area.
CFBP provides education to the surrounding communities on raptor biology and
management.
CFBP Strongly believes that raptor conservation is promoted by education at a local level, for adults and children alike.
CFBP provides raptor-related education for school programs, public festivals, and private group educational events. Recent events include various school classroom presentations, Community festivals, Highland Games events, and others.
Education also takes place at a professional level. CFBP has developed significant advances in raptor rehabilitation, conditioning, and husbandry. Part of our education mandate is to pass on that knowledge to other groups and individuals who want to keep their skills current.
CFBP, in partnership with California Hawking Club, presented the CFBP Raptor Symposium in the fall of 2000. A similar event, scheduled for spring 2002, was cancelled after the September 11th attacks.
CHC personnel frequently provide presentations to professional groups including veterinary conferences, rehab symposiums such as the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (IWRC), California Hawking Club (CHC) field meets, Electric utility conferences, and similar groups.
CFBP also provides train-the-trainer assistance. Do you run or participate in an environmental education program using birds of prey? Do you wish you had more time and resources to advance your staff’s animal handling skills? Are you unable to utilize some of your education birds to their fullest due to behavioral issues?

Our experienced raptor handlers and educators can consult with your education program. We can provide advanced training and recommendations to assist in taking your educational group to the next level!
